Why Use a  City Tower Crane Instead of a Self Erecting Crane ?

For those sites where there is not enough space available on the ground for a bottom-slewing self-erecting crane, a remote control city tower crane may be considered.

These machines are basically small modular built tower cranes. Erection and dismantling costs are more than that of the self-erecting cranes but less than the traditional tower crane; and as they can be driven by a radio remote control operating costs are kept to a minimum.

These cranes can be installed into lift shafts or confined areas within a site boundary using disposable fixing angles. Alternatively a ballasted cross base can be used occupying an area of approx 5m x 5m.
