Health & Safety Policy
It is company policy to comply with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006 and the safety, health and welfare of work (general appliacation) regulations 2007. This ensures, so far as is reasonably practicable, the safety, health and welfare of all employees whilst at work. Mantis provides such information, training and supervision as is necessary for this purpose.
Mantis Cranes will protect, so far as is reasonable and practicable, persons not employed by this company but who may be affected by its activities.
We give practical effect to our aspirations through different ongoing initiatives, including:
- Employing our own full time officer with resposibility for Health and Safety together with nominated staff responsible for Health and Safety at all levels.
- Effectively communicating to all of our staff and subcontractors the importance we attach to Health and Safety.
- Inducting all new staff on our attitude to safety in the workplace and ensuring that all of those who enter building sites have all undergone and passed the Safe Pass Training Course.
- Recognizing that "Prevention is Better than Cure" by carrying out risk assessments, hazard identification and managing dangers in the workplace generally.
As a company, we strive to be the best at everything we do and recognize that, as a matter of common sense, safe sites are a key factor in achieving the highest standards of excellence in all of our activities. Practical experience has shown that the proper management of Health and Safety in the workplace not only protects our valued staff but contributes greatly to business success.
All employees have responsibility to co-operate with supervisors and managers to achieve a healthy and safe workplace and to take such care as is necessary for their own protection and that of others.
It is the policy of the company to consult all staff and employees on matters of health and safety and employees are encouraged to comply with their duties under the 2005 Act, 2006 Construction Regulations and the general appliacations 2007. Company policy also requires staff to notify the company management of identified hazards in the workplace.
The allocation of duties for safety matters and particular arrangement for the implementation of this policy are set out in the company safety statement.
This policy will be kept up to date particularly as the business changes in nature and in size. To ensure this, the policy and the way in which it has operated will be reviewed as required.
The Mantis Cranes safety statement is distributed to all employees and is available to any other interested parties on request.
